Overview The urban and regional freight task is defining the future for freight in Australia. 80% of all goods moved do not leave urban or built up areas. Growth is phenomenal and communities are challenged by this growing freight task. The Urban and Regional Freight workshop will define this growing task. It will bring together experts in the field of urban design, vehicle design, local government, freight generators and the community. Together they will explore urban and regional freight vehicles and freight outcomes that will meet the needs of a 24/7 society. It will cover topics including:
- Freight projections
- Freight programs
- Freight generators needs
- Freight in the community
- Trucks of the future
- Managing local roads using IAP
- Community views – panel of municipal CEO’s
- Solutions workshops
The day will identify the key issues to allow productive carriage of freight across Australia’s municipal road network

Breakfast with Greg Murphy – V8 superstar – the logistics of V8 racing
Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast provided by WorkSafe and featuring Greg Murphy, winner of four Bathurst and eleven V8 Supercar events. Greg Murphy is an Australian legend who will provide an entertaining start to the day on the logistics of V8 racing. A workshop presented by WorkSafe will follow with easy-to-understand information and handouts on OHS and Return to Work which can help towards improving your bottom line.
