Waterfront

Thursday 20th
Caulfield

Overview

A day of port related discussions and debate on the trends and technology that will take Australian ports into the future. Sessions will cover:

  • International shipping trends
  • Stevedores views
  • Port Corporation's forum
  • Shippers panel - a customers view
  • Peak bodies panel - the politics of ports and shipping
  • Land interface issues - road, rail, infrastructure and operational interfaces

Ports and the waterfront are the engine room of economic growth for nations. As a mature trading economy, Australia is highly dependent on its ports and waterfront interface to ensure its international competitiveness. Growth is unprecedented and challenging our ability to innovate and improve our competitiveness. Communities are wary of continued expansion yet accepting of the lifestyle that imported good provide.
